Why "DISM /online /Get-Features" claims that this is not a "valid package" ?

Hello

(I need to disable IIS)

First of all, I am on Windows 8, which still has some bug displaying the features in the "Turn Win features on or off" but no fix!

I finally gave up looking for a solution when I heard of DISM.exe. But I can't understand why this command :

"C:\> DISM /online /Get-Features"

keeps telling me that the "specified package is not valid Windows package" (error 0x800f0805) whereas it should display me some list of available features (if I remember well, but in all case, not an error!)

Does anyone knows how to fix it or what might cause such a behavior?

Your WinSxS folder is corrupted. Repair it with DISM:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Does this fix it? If not, upload he DISM.log and the complete CBS folder (from C:\Windows\logs).

Hi Damien L,

Based on Andre.Ziegler's suggestion, this issue suggests that certain system files could be corrupt. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth is used  to scan the image for component store corruption, and then perform repair operations automatically. This operation will take several minutes.
